new Delhi: The Indian Army said on Thursday that the government has issued an order to give permanent commission to women officers in the force. Army spokesman Colonel Aman Anand said that the government order has paved the way for the participation of women officers in large roles in the army.
He said, “This order directs the commissioning of permanent commission to Short Service Commission (SSC) women officers in all the 10 parts of the Indian Army.”
Colonel Anand said that the ten organs in which permanent commission will be available for women officers include military air defense, signals, engineers, military aviation, electronic and mechanical engineers, military service corps and intelligence corps. In addition to the commission in the presently available Judge and Advocate General in the Army and the Military Education Corps, the above arrangement will be done.
