Kolkata: Two vicious criminals who smuggled yaba tablets in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, have been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the police. He has been identified as 29-year-old Farooq Sheikh and 40-year-old Ismail Sheikh. Both belong to the cotton police station area of Murshidabad district. STF Deputy Commissioner IPS Aparajita Roy gave information about the arrest of these two on Saturday. They said that both of them were arrested late Friday evening from Neemak Mahal Road under Westport police station in Kolkata. Confirmation of their presence in the metropolis was already received, after which the STF team laid siege and nabbed the Neemak Mall road. 5.456 kg alcoholic tablet Yaba has been recovered from them. Its total number is 50 thousand. It has been valued at Rs 2.5 crore in the international market. During interrogation, these people have told that they used to come to Kolkata and surrounding areas with drugs and from here the drug was smuggled into Bangladesh through border area. Legal action has been initiated against all these by registering cases under the sections of NDPS Act. Efforts are being made to find information about Kolkata and their other associates in districts.
