new Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested a vicious thug who along with his gang members used to cheat people for dollars and then extort money from people. Accused Asim Mandal (47) is originally from West Bengal. He has done the job of security guard. However, the police have not found any old criminal records of him.

DCP RP Meena of South-East district of Delhi said that five mobile phones, a packet of paper cut in dollar shape and Rs 25,00 have been recovered from the accused.

Police said that the accused had looted a taxi driver in New Friends Colony area of ​​Delhi for giving five thousand US dollars for one lakh rupees. On July 17, the accused called the taxi driver Sandeep to Timur Nagar, where he was accompanied by a woman and a male companion. He escaped by giving a packet of US dollars to Sandeep with one lakh.

When the taxi driver opened the packet of notes, his senses flew away. There were only papers inside the packet. The police started investigating on the complaint of the victim. The accused’s mobile was mounted on tracing and the CDR was searched and then on 22 July the accused was arrested from Khoda Colony Ghaziabad.

The accused said that he used to work as a security guard in CR Park earlier. After coming in contact with a person named Badul of West Bengal, he started a business of cheating.
