new Delhi: Rajasthan The government has taken a big decision regarding the CBI investigation amid political turmoil. Now the CBI will not be able to directly investigate any case in the state. For investigation of any case, first the consent of the state government will be required. State Home Department has issued a notification in this regard.
The notification states that the state government will agree on a case according to the situation. The government has revoked all previous general consent. However in specific individual cases, consent will be maintained
Significantly, the Gehlot government has taken this decision regarding the CBI at a time when political tussle is continuing regarding the Congress government in the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accused the central government that central investigative agencies are being misused to create pressure.
Let me tell you that a few days ago in Rajasthan, the Income Tax Department raided the house of alleged close relatives of Ashok Gehlot. Also, the Income Tax Department had sent summons to four alleged close people of CM Gehlot for questioning. All these were sent notices under Section 131 of the Income Tax.
