NDRF engaged in Bihar floods promptly, so far 6600 people safely evacuated

Motihari: Bihar In the flood affected districts of the state, 21 teams of NDRF are busy in relief and rescue operations. According to the report, currently 11 districts of Bihar state- Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, East Champaran, West Champaran, Khagaria and Saran are flood affected.

Vijay Sinha, Commandant of 9th Corps NDRF based in Bihta (Patna) said that so far our rescue personnel of NDRF have been running continuous rescue operations day and night in Gopalganj, Saran, East Champaran, West Champaran, Darbhanga and Supaul districts. People trapped in and hundreds of fishermen have been evacuated to safe places.

NDRF teams are also helping the district administration in distributing relief materials among the flood affected people. Apart from this, NDRF personnel are also helping the state government’s medical teams to reach flood affected rural areas by rescue boats to provide medical assistance to the needy people.

He further said that during the Flood Relief and Rescue Operation this year, NDRF personnel have a dual challenge – first, to help people in the flood disaster as quickly as possible and to protect themselves from the second corona virus infection and also to save the flood affected people. Make a lot of effort NDRF’s Corona virus infection prevention guidelines and protocols are followed.
