Gorakhpur: The body was recovered by the police on Monday of a kidnapped student in Pipraich area of Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said Mahajan Gupta, the father of 14-year-old child Balram Gupta, owned a groceries and a paan shop. The child was kidnapped on Sunday and after that the family received a call for ransom.
Mahajan Gupta told, ‘After Sunday afternoon, his child Balram Gupta went to play outside the house after having dinner. In the evening, I got a call from an unknown number and I was asked for a ransom of one crore rupees in lieu of the child. I immediately informed the police.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Gupta said on Monday that the police had arrested the kidnappers on Sunday night as soon as the incident was reported.
He said that during interrogation, the kidnappers told that they had killed the child at night and according to the information received from them, the body of the child has been recovered.
According to the SSP, the child was missing since noon and his father informed the police about it in the evening.
Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) in Lucknow, Prashant Kumar said that several suspects were questioned in this case. On interrogating a person named Dayanand Rajbhar, he told that the child has been killed. On his spot, the dead body was recovered in a sack from Kewatiya Tola drain.
He told that the questioning of Dayanand is going on. Three-four other people are also involved in this incident. The search is on for these people.
