new Delhi: Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor plays Gunjan Saxena, the first female pilot of the Indian Air Force to fly an aircraft in the war zone in the upcoming biopic. Jahnavi has learned a big lesson while playing this role. ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ is based on the life of Air Force pilot Gunjan, so Jahnavi spent a lot of time with him.
Jahnavi, daughter of the late star Sridevi, says, “If someone works hard, he gets the result. He gets a point. I know about Privilege myself. I often feel guilty about it too. But the best I can do is to work hard in my work.
He realized how Saxena did not let gender bias in society come in the way. Neither did he let himself become a victim of it. Instead, he worked hard, which inspired many people.
Taking part in a media interaction with Jahnavi, Saxena talked about the most difficult things women face.
He said, ‘While basic facilities like separate washrooms or changing rooms etc. were improving gradually, the most difficult problem was to break people’s mental barriers. So that they accept you as a professional. You should be accepted as an officer and not as a female officer. I think that was the most challenging and exciting part.
The film ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ directed by Sharan Sharma also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi. The film is set to release on Netflix on August 12.
