The Union Health Ministry said that in the meantime, the number of people recovering from Kovid-19 for the third consecutive day in the country reached a record high of 34,602 in the last 24 hours. The ministry said that the total number of healthy people has increased to 8,17,208.
The data released by the ministry said that the death rate from infection has come down to 2.38 percent. According to the data, the highest number of 49,310 cases of infection were reported in India in one day and the number of infections increased to 12,87,945. After 740 new cases of death due to this infection, the death toll has increased to 30,601. Meanwhile, according to the data received from the governments of various states and union territories, the total cases of infection are 13,13,925 cases while 31,353 patients died.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, while addressing a digital meeting of health ministers of the countries involved in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), said that India has the lowest corona virus in the world with 864 cases per million population and fewer than 21 patients dying. According to the statement of the Ministry, he emphasized how Indian traditional medicine has also contributed significantly in increasing the immunity of common people during the corona virus epidemic.
He proposed the establishment of a new sub-group on traditional medicine under the existing institutional meetings of the Health Ministers of the SCO.
He said that at present there is no institutional mechanism within the SCO to discuss cooperation in traditional medicine which has the potential to meet the World Health Organization (WHO) traditional medicine strategy 2014-2023.
The ministry said that the number of people recovering from the infection has increased by 3,77,073 more than the number of patients undergoing treatment due to the continuous increase in the number of healthy people. Currently, 4,40,135 patients of corona virus are being treated in the country. A total of 1,54,28,170 samples have been tested till July 23 in the country. On Thursday, 3,52,801 samples were tested.
The Ministry of Health said, “In this context, 11,179.83 investigations are being done per million people in India and there has been a steady increase after adopting the strategy of investigation, detection and treatment.”
The ministry said that with the steady increase in the number of healthy people, the efforts of states and union territories were boosted by sending a central team of experts to the areas with more patients.
