new Delhi: Coronavirus The Union Government, along with Air India, started the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ to bring back the Indian nationals trapped in other countries during the pandemic and lockdown. On Sunday, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri said that since May 6, 2020, more than 8 lakh 14 thousand stranded Indians stranded in different countries have been brought back home under the mission.

Puri tweeted that more than 2 lakh 70 thousand people have been brought to India by flights from 53 countries. He told that from August 1, 2020, the fifth phase of Vande Bharat Mission is starting now. At present, the details of the citizens who came back in the fourth phase are being prepared.

Puri said that in the fifth phase of the campaign, we will work more closely with countries like US, Canada, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Singapore, UK, Frankfurt, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand, Philippines. Like we did earlier, more destinations and flights will be added as this phase progresses.
