Jaipur: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi has rejected the petition of BJP MLA Madan Dilawar against six BSP MLAs joining Congress. MLA Dilawar says that he will make a comment only after studying the order. However, Dilawar sat on a dharna in the room of the Assembly Secretary for some time on Monday to get a copy of the Speaker’s decision. The Secretariat provided him with a summary of the order after which he came out.
BJP MLA and former minister Madan Dilawar objected to the BSP’s six BSP MLAs joining the Congress, petitioning them under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution to disqualify these MLAs. After this, on July 17, again requested to take immediate action on the petition.
According to Dilawar, the Speaker disposed of his petition but he did not get a copy of it. Dilawar told reporters outside the assembly, “The Speaker disposed of his petition on July 24 …. It should have been that the Speaker of the Assembly would listen to my side and take a decision after that. It would have given me satisfaction.
Dilawar said that he has been provided with the summary of the Speaker’s order. They have been assured that a copy of the detailed order will be made available by evening. Dilawar had also filed a petition in the Rajasthan High Court against the merger of six BSP MLAs with Congress, which was dismissed on Monday.
It is noteworthy that Sandeep Yadav, Wajib Ali, Deepchand Kheria, Lakhan Meena, Jogendra Awana and Rajendra Gudha won the 2018 assembly elections on BSP ticket. All these MLAs left the BSP in September 2019 and joined Congress.
