Chopra, (Uttar Dinajpur) 20 July. Senior Trinamool leader and state tourism minister Gautam Dev has hit out at the BJP for the Chopra scandal. Minister Gautam Dev, who reached Chopra to meet the family members of the deceased girl on Monday afternoon, accused the BJP of trying to create communal tension in the area by giving political color to the incident. On Monday, the minister expressed condolences to the deceased girl’s family members at Chatrapachh Chopra police station on Monday. Shri Dev said that the BJP is creating chaos in the area by bringing anti-social elements from outside. He also said that those involved in the murder of the student and those who spread chaos in the area after the incident, will surely get punished. Minister Gautam Dev accused the state vice-president of the BJP of commenting about the incident without knowing it. Expressing condolences to the family of the student and a young man killed today, Minister Gautam Dev assured the fair investigation of the incident and said that the victims will get fair justice. He said that police is investigating the double murder in the last 24 hours. Along with this, he said that after the incident, miscreants burnt several government buses and shops yesterday. Police is investigating all these. The minister went to Chopra’s house and met the family members of the deceased student and comforted them. The family members also expressed their grief to the minister while investigating the incident and pleaded for justice. It is worth noting that apart from Gautam Dev, the Trinamool Congress President and Rajya Sabha MP Mausam Noor of Malda also reached Chopra and met the family members of the deceased. He accused the BJP of doing politics about the incident. Mausam said that the BJP is creating a communal atmosphere regarding the incident. The Trinamool Congress opposes this. He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, all of them have come to Chopra today. Mausam Noor said that the police have started investigating the incident. She also wants an unbiased investigation into the incident and punishes the culprits. State Minister of State for Labor Ghulam Rabbani, Islampur Municipal Administrator and District Trinamool Congress President Kanhaiyalal Agarwal, Chopra MLA Hamidul Rahman also reached Chopra today.
