Bihar: Flood situation in many districts, instructions given to district collectors to remain alert

Patna: Due to heavy rains in the catchment area of ​​Nepal and Gandak river, the discharge and discharge of Gandak river is likely to increase significantly. Due to heavy rains, flood situation may occur in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali and Saran districts.

At the same time, the CM has said that by evacuating the people living in the low lying areas of the Gandak river watersheds, ensure action to take them to the identified high and safe places.

At the same time, the Chief Minister has also instructed to be fully prepared for relief and rescue work. The Chief Minister said that helpless work should be done with utmost urgency among the disabled population, so that they do not face any kind of difficulty.

He said that, according to SOP, all arrangements should be made for them. If there is any containment zone identified in the areas of the inhabited population, then separate disaster relief centers should be created for them and help is provided to them. Ensure the arrangement to keep such people separate from the general flood victims.

The CM said that it should be ensured that Social Distancing and Mask are being used at the relief centers. The Chief Minister said that, in areas where population is being disposed of, proper fodder arrangements for animals should also be ensured in those areas.

He has instructed that the Water Resources Department should keep a full alert on all the invasive sites so that the embankments can be fully protected. The Chief Minister directed that teams of NDRF and SDRF already deputed in the districts should also be kept in full alert mode so that prompt action can be taken in any adverse situation.
