He wrote in the tweet, “My friend and director of the film ‘Road’ Rajat Mukherjee died in Jaipur this morning after a long illness. Rest in Peace Rajat! Still we can’t believe we will never meet again Stay happy wherever you are.
My friend and director of road, Rajat Mukherjee passed away in the early hours today in Jaipur after a long battle with illness !!! Rest in peace Rajat !! Still can’t believe that we will never meet or discuss our work ever again.khush reh jaha bhi reh.

Talking about the film ‘Road’, it was released in 2002. The film featured Vivek Oberoi and Antara Mali in the lead roles. Apart from this, Rajat also directed the Urmila Matondkar, Fardeen Khan and Sonali Kulkarni starrer film Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya which was released in 2001.
