Malda: In Chanchal of Malda district, hundreds of Left Front and Congress supporters joined the ruling Trinamool Congress. Last night around 250 supporters of both political parties joined the Trinamool after the 21 July Martyr’s Day program. All of them joined the Trinamool Congress office in Kharba zone of Chanchal number one block. Congress leader Mohammad Alamgir of Kharba Gram Panchayat along with his hundreds of supporters joined the Trinamool Congress yesterday. Apart from this, Rezaul Karim, a member of the zonal committee of CPM of the same Gram Panchayat, along with 50 supporters, joined the ruling disrepute. Altogether, around 250 people left the Bam Morcha and the Congress to join the Trinamool. Mohammed Alamgir of Congress, Hamidur Rehman of Congress, then Janmali Rezaul Karim of CPM, who joined Trinamool Congress, told that they remained associated with their party for about 15 years. But he did not get minimum honors in the party. The district and state leadership were repeatedly told about the party’s problems but to no avail. These people said that impressed by the ideals and development works of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, they all left their party and joined Trinamool Congress. Abdul Hussain, a member of the Trinamool Core Committee of Kharwa Gram Panchayat, said that about 250 Left Front and Congress supporters joined the Trinamool Congress. He said that by joining such a large number of Trinamool people, the party will get stronger.
